On February 21, 2019, the Executive Yuan submitted the draft of the Implementation Act of Judicial Yuan Interpretation No. 748 to the Legislative Yuan. On May 17, 2019, the Legislative Yuan passed it, and after President Tsai Ing-wen promulgated it on May 22, the law officially took effect on May 24, 2019.
Taiwan became the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. 🌈
